Creative Writing Workshop: 10-15 May 2008

Why on earth would anyone want to go on a residential creative writing course in the south of France?

Because you'd love to take a year in Provence to write that novel but aren't quite ready yet to let go of the day job.

What to bring: Your inner muse, although going solo decreases the distractions.

Who is leading the course: Lin Anderson: novelist, screen writer, short-story writer and experienced teacher of creative writing,

Zurich Airport's Air Magazine features an article on Lin's course in their latest issue.
Check it out here on pages 32 and 33 (pages 34 and 35 of the pdf).

Roman Provence: An Archaeological Adventure: June 21-26, 2008

Explore Provence's rich and wonderful collection of Roman sites -- and more -- in the company of archaeologist Jim Devine of Glasgow University's Hunterian Museum. Four full days of guided exploration including the Pont du Gard, Arles, Nimes, Glanum, Orange and Vaison-la-Romaine. This tour will combine a serious investigation of the Roman heritage of southern France, including its links to the present day, with a light-hearted spirit of adventure. Along the way, we'll try out Roman food and wine, watch the Course Camargaise bull games (don't worry, no animals are harmed), visit the famous Tuesday market at Vaison and take some walks in the countryside.Every evening there will be an aperitif in a restored medieval village house during which the programme and activities of the following day will be outlined and put into their historical and cultural context.
